Trunk
Side/Coffee Table
Self-initiated
2015
Trunk is a collection of occasional tables with integrated storage. CNC cut from a single sheet of birch core plywood, Trunk explores of the limits of a single material and process, while eschewing the typical aesthetic of flat pack CNC cut plywood furniture. A simple plywood box at its core, each of Trunks panels receive the same rounded corners and chamfered edges, resulting in a curved triangular void at each intersection once assembled. This void serves as an access point for removing the lid, as well as a pass-through for cables.
